Dr. Melissa Jacobs grew up in beautiful British Columbia, Canada and moved to the SF Bay Area in 2007. She completed an undergraduate degree in Physics/Astronomy/Mathematics at University of Victoria, and worked briefly at an engineering company before finding veterinary medicine as her true calling. She graduated from St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine magna cum laude, then moved on to a rotating small animal internship focusing on Internal Medicine, Emergency and Surgery at the University of Minnesota. She then completed a fellowship in Emergency & Critical care at UMN for one year, after which moving to the Bay Area to complete a specialty Surgical internship. Since completing that program she has been caring for dogs and cats in the Bay Area for over 10 years, as well as teaching Biology at the community college level. In her spare time, Dr Jacobs enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, and traveling.
