Dr. Clara Burton

Dr. Clara Burton joined the Discovery Bay Veterinary Clinic after graduating from the UC Davis Veterinary School in May 2023. She worked as a veterinary assistant at the Discovery Bay clinic for two years prior to attending UC Davis. She received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology from Mills College in 2017. While at Mills, she was part of a research team studying wild California ground squirrels in Bay Area regional parks. Outside of school, she also has pursued her passion for animals as a volunteer at: a community veterinary clinic in Knights Landing, a kitten rescue, the California Raptor Center, the Marine Mammal Center, House Rabbit Society, and the Micke Grove Zoo in Lodi. Dr. Burton enjoys helping animals and their people, and has a special interest in exotic animal medicine and dentistry.

Dr. Burton grew up in Discovery Bay in a home filled with rescue animals. Currently she has two German shepherds, three terriers and three cats. Needless to say, she spends a majority of her free time with her animals, as well as hiking, kayaking, baking, refurbishing old furniture, and spending time with friends and family.
