Without treatment in can lead to serious symptoms such as blindness, fainting, seizures, weakness, loss of appetite and even death.  We can easily measure your pets blood pressure similar to how we do it in people and have medications to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Dogs or cats with heart murmurs, cardiac hypertrophy, retinal hemorrhage or detachment, bloody nose (epistaxis) , kidney disease, Cushings, diabetes, hyperthyroidism and seizures are much more likely candidates  for high blood pressure.
